Every year “Science Day” is celebrated at the Centre as an “Open day”. To commemorate the day, students from neighbouring schools are invited to the Centre and encouraged to interact with the researchers to have a firsthand experience of different scientific activities. A half-day seminar is also arranged with a wide variety of science topics being introduced to the students by the faculty.
Research Outreach Initiative (ROI)
The Centre launched the Research Outreach Initiative (ROI) programme to provide a first-hand experience in front-line research to highly motivated students presently pursuing a post-graduate course in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science. Those who have completed the post-graduate course within the last one year, are also eligible to apply. In exceptional cases, students pursuing an Engineering degree and in the final year of the course, may also be considered.
Eligible students may apply anytime of the year, using the template attached below. Selection is based on scrutiny by an expert committee which meets periodically (once in three months), followed by interaction with the shortlisted applicants, in person or on-line. The selected candidates will be contacted by the respective faculty mentors.
The ROI programme is available throughout the year; mutual convenience of the student and mentor, will be taken into account before scheduling the visit period.
